About San Antonio Recovery Center Cagnon

San Antonio Recovery Center (SARC) is an independent drug and alcohol treatment center that believes in providing a full continuum of care including medical detox, residential treatment, intensive outpatient, gender-specific sober living, and an aftercare program. SARC works with clients from start to finish by providing evidence-based treatment modalities along with a holistic program. The San Antonio Recovery Center rehab schedule allows clients to go to therapy sessions and still have opportunities to try new experiences. Treatment engages clients in process therapy and chemical dependency education. After lunch, chores, and smoke breaks, the afternoon schedule includes relapse prevention, wellness dinner, step/big book study, outside alcohol anonymous (AA) group meetings, and personal time. Lights are out at 10:30PM, and after such a busy day, clients are ready for a good night’s rest.
The most important staff member at SARC is a rescue dog named Lacy. Lacy is the recovery support dog. Lacy’s story is very similar to many of those who seek treatment at SARC. SARC tells, “When Harvey hit, Lacy was homeless and living on the streets. Thankfully, Lacy was saved and taken to shelter from the storm. After the hurricane, rescuers searched for a good home for Lacy. With over 100 potential adoptive families eager to take Lacy in, Lacy chose her home at San Antonio Recovery Center.” Lacy has made a huge impact on clients and the staff, and she finished her support dog training and is part of the animal-assisted therapy offered at SARC.
