Set along the Connecticut Shoreline, Recovery at WildWood Farm is an affirming LGTBQI+ substance use program that helps clients find authentic love for themselves through supportive programming. It is intended for individuals who identify as part of the LBTBQI+ community and provides a comprehensive extended care program and adventure-based activities for their clients. Recovery at WildWood Farm takes a client’s personal history into account when forming a treatment plan and boasts a ‘queer-normative’ campus. Clients can benefit from evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivating interviewing, and family therapy.
At Recovery at WildWood Farm, clients can enjoy a farm-to-table lifestyle involving animal care, farm, and household chores. Clients can engage in gardening and enjoy the farm's lovable cats, goats, pigs, and therapy dog. The treatment center promotes an experience-based active lifestyle during treatment and participates in activities such as yoga, hiking, meditation, local excursions, and cooking. Recovery at WildWood Farm welcomes members of the gay community into a loving environment and helps them move from a shame-based identity to one of pride.
