OPI Houston (formerly Fulshear Treatment to Transition) is a mental health treatment center for young adult women ages 18-24. Their program's goal is to support the development of powerful, healthy women. They work to accomplish this by providing a range of therapeutic methods like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family counseling, life skills, and equine therapy. Women in the program spend their first few months living at The Ranch where they have access to nature, a pool, horses, and daily therapy sessions.
After graduating from residential treatment, clients move on to OPI's transition program. The transition program provides more independence and free time, with clients expected to attend therapy sessions in the morning with the afternoons free to fill how they choose. Clients may spend that time working a part-time job, attending classes, or volunteering in the community. They live in shared apartments with 3 other women in the program, which are just a short walk from the therapy office. On average, clients spend 9-12 months in total in Fulshear’s program, with the majority of the time being spent in the transitional program.
