About Kinder in the Keys

Located in the beautiful tropical paradise of Key Largo lies Kinder in the Keys, a one-of-a-kind, women's-only sanctuary that provides specialized treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), narcissistic abuse, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders (if medically stable), panic disorders, grief, terminal illnesses, and postpartum depression, among others. They follow a triangular treatment philosophy that addresses the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of each individual, providing holistic treatment plans that are uniquely personalized based on the client's specific needs.
A team of compassionate treatment professionals guides clients through the healing process by helping them develop the necessary coping skills to deal with past traumas, including assault, sexual abuse, miscarriage, and domestic violence. Clients can opt for partial hospitalization (PHP), short term residential (less than 30 days), or long term residential (longer than 30 days). Women come from around the country (and locally, too) and usually stay for 4 to 8 weeks.
Within close proximity to the ocean, Kinder offers clients an opportunity to experience unique experiential and animal therapies as part of their Uniquely Kinder program. Patients can participate in experiential therapies such as aerial yoga by the ocean, paddle boarding, snorkeling, boating excursions, and kayaking. Kinder in the Keys offers animal encounters and activities such as dolphin swim, wild bird sanctuary visits, and fox encounters. When available, they provide these activities on a rotating schedule subject to change. Creative therapies like music, art, and sand are also part of their wellness amenities. During treatment, clients will engage in weekly individual therapy, family counseling, group therapy, skill building holistic life enrichment activities, balanced nutritional meals, and case management. Clients can practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques in the tranquil meditation and hammock garden, and experience a sense of serenity while walking the nearby beach.
Kinder in the Keys took great care in creating a luxurious space, conducive for healing. Upon arrival, clients will have a sense of instant calmness with bright spacious living areas, outdoor hammocks, a gorgeous pool with hot tub, along with a beachy outdoor seating area and fresh ocean air. Their holistic approach looks at the impact food and lifestyle have on mental health, making nutrition an important part of the treatment and recovery process at Kinder in the Keys. Their executive chef prepares fresh and balanced meals from scratch daily using only non-gmo and organic ingredients.
As one of the only non-substance use inpatient mental health facilities in the country, Kinder in the Keys is truly special, helping women live healthier lives by providing customized holistic care in an environment conducive to restoration, healing, and renewal.
