About House of Freedom Puerto Rico

House of Freedom was founded by Pastor Esteban Morales who was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. He obtained a degree in Medical Technology, a profession he undertook for a time before falling into a painful drug addiction. Jesus Christ came into his life at the age of 25, in a campaign by international evangelist Nicky Cruz, accompanied by the orchestra of Bobby Cruz and Richie Ray. On May 1, 1991 Pastor Esteban Morales, his wife and his family started the House of Freedom which has been dedicated to helping others heal from addiction.
The House of Freedom provides a full continuum of care including medical and non-medical detox, short and long-term residential care, and outpatient services. The residential programs can last from 30 days to 15 months. During all programs, clients will have the opportunity to engage in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), relapse prevention, group therapy, educational and professional development, and recreational therapy. Recreational therapy is essential at the House of freedom. This allows clients to create new positive associations that did not exist before. Recreational therapies can include sauna baths, softball games, physical fitness, music classes, boat rides, equine therapy, and restaurant outings.
