Clients in this phase get daily medical check-ups, around-the-clock monitoring, proper nutrition, and vitamins. After detox, clients are eligible to begin residential treatment. This program length is usually 30 days and offers a variety of therapies like CBT, DBT, EMDR, 12-Step, individual counseling, gestalt therapy, animal therapy, as well as gender-specific groups. 1st Step also provides educational courses that include relapse prevention, healthy communication, goal setting, and coping skills. There are specialized groups and medication management available for those who need dual-diagnosis support. 1st Step also provides specialized treatment for professionals who work as police officers, firefighters, and paramedics. This program is tailored to meet the needs of these specific careers.
Located just north of Fort Lauderdale in Pompano Beach, 1st Step provides condo-like housing in sunny Florida. Clients share the gender-specific units with one other person, each getting their own full-size bed. On-site clients can enjoy a pool and beautiful outdoor common areas. 1st Step meets the client where they are at and provides high-quality care and treatment. They are accredited by the Joint Commission and accept most private insurance.
