About Embark at Greenwood Village

Embark at Greenwood Village offers mental health and addiction services for adolescents aged 12-18 and their families. The highest level of care offered is their partial hospitalization program (PHP), a therapeutic day program engaging teens in specialized individual and group therapies. They also provide 1-on-1 attention from teachers and tutors assisting with school work, earning credits that can be transferred back to their school. The partial hospitalization program treats young people who may be experiencing addiction and acute psychiatric symptoms that are difficult to manage but don’t require the intensity of 24-hour care. Treatment methods such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), individual coaching and counseling, group and family therapy sessions, as well as experiential therapies are used. The next step down from partial hospitalization is their intensive outpatient program (IOP), a similar treatment program to partial hospitalization, but group and individual therapy sessions are held in the evening to accommodate school or work commitments for patients and families. Adolescents participating in intensive outpatient care have individualized treatment plans that can include therapies such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and SMART Recovery addiction treatment. Patients attend a minimum of 12 hours per week in intensive outpatient, generally 3 hours a day, 4-6 days per week. Embark at Greenwood Village also offers a virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) for a more accessible and convenient way to receive care when attending in-person sessions is not an option. After the intensive outpatient program (IOP), patients are able to continue with 1-on-1 therapy sessions as part of the continuum of care offered by Embark.
Using a trauma-informed approach, Embark focuses on treating adolescents who are struggling from a variety of mental health and behavioral disorders. Their knowledgeable and experienced staff can treat mental illnesses like borderline personality disorder (BPD), bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, and anxiety. Eating disorders, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), reactive attachment disorder (RAD), gaming addiction, and substance misuse and addiction are some of the other behavioral disorders that can be addressed.
