Discovery Mood & Anxiety San Jacinto is an adolescent treatment facility in San Jacinto, California. The 19-bed residential facility provides 24-hour care and a safe space for adolescents 11 to 17 to receive treatment for mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, self-harm, and co-occurring disorders. Discovery’s highly trained staff provides evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in both individual and group therapy settings. Through the assistance of on-site educational liaisons, clients continue their studies in addition to counseling. The team devotes three hours a day to instruction with the goal of getting pupils ready to return to the classroom.
Discovery believes that family support plays a powerful role in the recovery process. For this reason, they have created a family program that allows for active participation. The family program includes 90-minute family counseling sessions, activity outings, and multi-family groups with an invitation for family members to stay for dinner afterwards. Discovery schedules these activities on a weekly basis, providing families with ample opportunities to be involved.
