The first Cuan Mhuire treatment center in Cork was established in August 2006. This program serves women-only needing treatment for substance use disorder .Sr. Consilio recognized the need for a specialized program since she was aware of the particular challenges certain women face in their fight against addiction. Participants move through a structured 12-week treatment for alcohol and a 20-week gambling/ addiction program for substance misuse. Cuan Mhuire continues to offer assistance after treatment. Their 2-year aftercare program continues to help individuals and their families in recovery. Since its founding in 1966 by Sr. Consilio, Cuan Mhuire has treated approximately 100,000 people.
