About Crestwood Behavioral Health Freise HOPE House

Crestwood’s Freise HOPE House in Bakersfield is a short-term, voluntary mental health Crisis Residential Treatment Program for adults aged 18–59 experiencing psychiatric crises. It offers a safe, homelike setting with 24/7 support, helping guests stabilize and prepare for community reintegration. The Freise HOPE House uses a peer-led model—staff with lived experience guide recovery using empathy and shared understanding.
The program uses dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help guests manage emotions and reduce harmful behaviors. Additional support includes trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and vocational training through the Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network.
