About Clementine Calabasas

Tucked away in Malibu Canyon since 1996, Clementine Calabasas is a 6-bed center that helps adolescent girls ages 11-17 overcome their struggles with eating disorders and other co-occurring disorders. Their goal is to not only heal their clients’ relationship with food, but also educate them for a clearer understanding of disordered thinking, attitudes, and behaviors. Clementine Calabasas aims to address the underlying causes of this behavior and does so through different therapies including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). They create customized nutrition plans for each client, as well as help build their knowledge and skill set in the kitchen.
Clementine Calabasas' goal is not only to restore their clients physically, but also mentally. They help them develop the confidence and recognition necessary to see that healthy comes in all shapes and sizes. Clementine Calabasas incorporates exercise and movement into their programs, as well, to build trust with the body, via nature walks, dance classes, yoga, weight training, and mindfulness exercises. Clients also have the option to step down to one of their day treatment programs across the country, with 2 locations nearby in Brentwood and Newport Beach.
