Chemical Addictions Recovery Effort (CARE) serves clients in the Panama City area. Their inland Alford site houses Care's A Woman’s Addiction Recovery Effort (AWARE) location for residential and sober living. CARE's AWARE treats female clients in a judgment-free way that is understanding of stigmas. They use the 12-Steps of recovery alongside medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and individual counseling.
CARE has 15 residential beds and 15 sober living beds in 11 shared bedrooms. Women can complete individual and group care and bring their infants with them. To make recovery more enjoyable, CARE decorates each of the rooms with a country's theme, including rooms based on China, France, Kenya, and India.
AWARE's residential program runs 8 weeks or longer. Their program for mothers and infants tends to go longer, 6 months to a year. Their sober living is usually 3 months.
